2008 Theme: Innovating to Meet the World’s Challenges

The Honors Ceremony was hosted by 2008 IEEE President, Lewis M. Terman, along with IEEE President-Elect, John R. Vig. It was held in conjunction with IEEE Sections Congress on Saturday, 20 September. IEEE.tv features the 2008 IEEE Honors Ceremony on their list of video programs.

There were 19 Institute-level award recipients from industry, research and education recognized at the 2008 IEEE Honors Ceremony. The Medal of Honor recipient, Dr. Gordon Moore, was recognized for pioneering technical roles integrated-circuit processing, and leadership in the development of MOS memory, the microprocessor computer and the semiconductor industry. View IEEE.tv's video production featuring Dr. Moore.
