Nominations are now open for the IEEE Award for Distinguished Ethical Practices. The deadline to nominate is 1 July 2024.

Sponsored by the IEEE Ethics and Member Conduct Committee (EMCC), the IEEE Award for Distinguished Ethical Practices recognizes an IEEE member or an organization employing IEEE members for (a) exemplary ethical behavior/practices or (b) persuasive advocacy or promotion of ethical behavior/practices related to the IEEE Code of Ethics.

IEEE Ethics and Member Conduct Committee

Through its Ethics and Member Conduct Committee, IEEE aims to:

  • Foster awareness on ethical issues
  • Promote ethical behavior among those working within IEEE fields of interest
  • Create a world in which engineers and scientists are respected for exemplary ethical behavior

The Ethics and Member Conduct Committee advises the IEEE Board of Directors on ethics policy and concerns and makes recommendations for educational programs to promote the ethical behavior of members and staff, among other activities. 

As part of its effort to promote professional responsibility and ethical practice among IEEE members, the Ethics and Member Conduct Committee plans, promotes, and coordinates a variety of activities including those listed below.
