500,000 HTML Documents Now Available in the IEEE Xplore® Digital Library

November 15, 2013 - As part of its long-standing commitment to deliver the latest technological research via a feature-rich delivery platform, IEEE announced that IEEE Xplore has reached a major milestone with over 500,000 documents now available in HTML format. In fact, the number of HTML articles is constantly growing in IEEE Xplore with more than two million articles projected by the end of the HTML conversion project. Integrating HTML articles in IEEE Xplore redefines how IEEE publications are displayed online and provides a richer and more interactive research experience.

The HTML presentation format allows users to engage with and better utilize elements such as figures, equations and multimedia files; quickly scan article contents via a “Quick Preview” feature; easily navigate through article sections; and see related articles.

A unique “floating” navigation module makes it easy to go through article components such as full-text, references, citations and authors in whatever way the user chooses. A PDF version of the article is still available for download.
