Elena joined IEEE in September 1999 as a research manager. Since then, she has been promoted to Senior Director and has reorganized the research function at IEEE. Elena's background in Social and Organizational Psychology has provided a good framework for her work at IEEE. Prior to IEEE, Elena was the Coordinator of Academic Information for Borough of Manhattan Community College, which is part of CUNY. She has taught undergraduate psychology classes at Rutgers University. Elena received her B.A. in Psychology and Sociology from Clark University and her master's degree and doctorate in Social Psychology from Rutgers University. As a member of American Psychological Association, American Marketing Association, and ASAE, she keeps abreast of trends in the industry.
Prior to coming to IEEE, Marc worked as an evaluator for a number of pre-college math and science education projects as a research analyst at Rutgers University. In addition, he has taught Research Methods for Psychology, Statistics for Psychology, and several other social and personality psychology courses. Marc is a member of the Marketing Research Association and the American Psychological Association. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Philosophy from the University of Maryland and a master’s degree in Social Psychology from Rutgers University.
Michael joined IEEE in 2013 after spending five years teaching Sociology and Criminal Justice courses at the undergraduate level. He has published peer-reviewed research in topics including criminal recidivism, police-community relations, and women’s roller derby. Michael earned his M.A. (2005) and Ph.D. (2009) in Sociology from the University of Cincinnati. Michael is a member of the American Sociological Association. In his spare time, Michael has also served as a volunteer in other non-profit associations.
Prior to joining IEEE, Lesleigh worked full time as a research coordinator on a grant to reduce drunk driving at the Center for Alcohol and Drug Resources. She continues to assist in other initiatives on an as-needed basis. Lesleigh also teaches courses in sociology and anthropology at Ocean County College as an Adjunct Instructor. Lesleigh holds a bachelor’s degree in Sociology from Lock Haven University and a master's degree in Sociology from William Paterson University. Lesleigh is also a member of the Marketing Research Association (MRA) and the American Sociological Association (ASA).
John has more than two decades of experience in market, business, and economic research for associations. He worked for the IEEE Computer Society for 12 years as Manager, Research & Planning, and joined the IEEE Corporate Strategy and Communications team in 2004. John holds a bachelor's degree in Economics from Belmont Abbey College and a master's degree in Economics from George Mason University.
Providence joined IEEE in 2009 as a Senior Communications Specialist, where she worked closely with the Technical Activities Board and Strategic Planning Committee. Since then, Providence has held diverse responsibilities throughout IEEE, including competitive intelligence, communications strategy, and management of the company's global Web presence. She is currently an Enterprise Planning Director within Corporate Activities, where she supports initiatives impacting IEEE's strategy and future direction.
Providence received her bachelor's degree in Communications and an MBA with concentrations in both Marketing and Strategic Change Management from Rutgers University. She is a member of the ASAE (American Society of Association Executives) and is a Certified Association Executive (CAE), and she holds multiple memberships in organizations contributing to the growth of engineering and technology.
