This is a set of training modules for Volunteers of IEEE.  These volunteer training modules are meant to help volunteers understand how IEEE functions and to explain the many services IEEE has to offer. 

 

Membership

IEEE Membership levels include:

  • Student Member
  • Graduate Student Member
  • Associate Member
  • Member
  • Senior Member
  • Fellow

Ten countries with the highest number of IEEE members:

  • United States
  • India
  • Canada
  • Japan
  • United Kingdom
  • China
  • Australia
  • Germany
  • Korea
  • Mexico

Total IEEE Membership of non-US residents is rising, primarily driven by student memberships.

Approximately half of IEEE members work for corporations, about a quarter work in academia, and government employment ranks third as a sector.

The IEEE Membership is organized into 10 regions:

  • Regions 1-6 are in the United States
  • Region 7 is Canada
  • Region 8 includes Europe, the Middle East and Africa
  • Region 9 encompasses the Caribbean and Latin America
  • Region 10 includes Asia, Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific Islands.

Worldwide, the IEEE Membership is further organized into local Sections, Divisions, Societies and Councils, Chapters, and Student Branches.
