IEEE eXpress Conference Publishing

To ensure that each conference article meets the PDF specifications required by the IEEE Xplore Digital Library, IEEE has created automated online processes that convert author-created source documents into Xplore-compliant PDFs. These conversions are the basis of eXpress Conference Publishing and are available for free to Conference Organizers via the stand-alone tool IEEE PDF eXpress™ or as part of the full range of services incorporated in the fee-based IEEE Conference eXpress.

First, be sure that all required documentation for IEEE conferences has been submitted. Then compare what services are provided to you by using either IEEE Conference eXpress or PDF eXpress.

eXpress PDF Conversion is underwritten by the IEEE Conference Publications department, technically-supported 24/7, and is free to all IEEE conferences. With either Conference eXpress or PDF eXpress, an author uploads a source file that is automatically converted to an Xplore-compatibile PDF. With PDF eXpress only, an author may upload a PDF to verify whether it is Xplore-compatibile.

PDF conversion is only a small portion of the publication process. If your conference requires more support than just PDF conversion, please review the services incorporated under IEEE Conference eXpress Project Management.

Project Management

Coordinate with Conference organizer to complete required IEEE documentation

Coordinate with Conference organizer to establish publication schedule

Coordinate with other Conference vendors (such as facility coordinators, registration services) as requested by Conference organizer

Capture conference-specific meta data (such as paper IDs) as requested by Conference organizer

Create customized online Author Instructions for paper preparation and manuscript submission

Review all pages of PDFs to discard blank pages; erroneous pagination, headers/footers

Collect all PDFs automatically after approval by authors in unique conference database

Collect online author copyright submissions

Apply appropriate copyright notice to each PDF in compliance with IEEE IPR and Conference Publications requirements while Xplore-compatiblity maintained

Forward or reroute queries and/or miscellaneous forms to Conference organizer

Provide email customer support to Conference organizer and authors

Provide status reports to Conference organizer

Create title and copyright pages in accordance with IEEE Conference Publications and IEEE Intellectual Proprietary Rights.

Deliver guaranteed Xplore-compliant PDFs to IEEE Xplore digital library and, thereby, to Engineering Index

Deliver conference PDF articles to various IEEE departments for fulfillment of library subscription plans and IEEE Abstract and Indexing
