Service as a program evaluator (PEV) requires volunteers to stay current on changing practices in engineering or engineering technology education, and the application of accreditation criteria to these situations.
What refresher training does ABET require?
ABET requires that all program evaluators must complete a newly developed, online refresher training course:
- Required every five years, provided there is no lapse in service.
If a program evaluator does not complete an on-site review for two consecutive years or has not been trained by either ABET or by his or her member society in the last two years, then Refresher Training is required before assignment to a Review Team can be made.
To successfully complete the training, program evaluators must pass three quizzes, referred to as "Checks for Understanding".
