K-12 STEM Program

The Knoxville Chamber, Knox County Schools, and the Knoxville Section of the Tennessee Society of Professional Engineers have started a website to act as a clearinghouse to link science and engineering professionals with students and educators. The Knoxville Chamber has requested that local technical society members show their interest in pre-college STEM outreach activities by volunteering to help schools meet the challenge of graduating students with technology proficiency. IEEE To Celebrate 125th Anniversary

IEEE will be celebrating it's 125th anniversary in 2009. A special website has been created to recognize the occasion. IEEE invites you to get involved locally and globally. The official IEEE anniversary date is 13 May 2009. Join us throughout the year as we celebrate 125 years of innovation and ingenuity with special events online and across the globe. Whether you participate in a local celebration, or contribute to our online message boards and contests, everyone can be a part of IEEE’s Anniversary Celebration.

Sections Congress 2008

sc2008 Sections Congress was held in Quebec City, Canada Sept. 18-22, 2008. Sections Congress is the triennial gathering of IEEE local section leadership from around the world. There were delegates from about 300 of the 324 sections; over 1000 representatives from 83 countries attended!

Sections Congress is a forum where the Section Chairs speak as the collective voice of IEEE membership, expressing ideas about how IEEE can better serve its members, both now and going forward. The issues generated at Sections Congress have a major impact on the plans made by IEEE Leadership for the future of IEEE.

SoutheastCon 2009 March 5-9, 2009

SoutheastCon 2009 will be held in Atlanta, GA. SoutheastCon 2009 invites prospective authors to submit technical papers on all aspects of engineering, science, and technology of current interest, to the conference.

SoutheastCon is the annual IEEE Region 3 Technical, Professional, and Student Conference. It brings together electrical, computer and other engineering and science professionals, faculty and students to share the latest information through technical sessions, tutorials, and exhibits. Attendance and technical program participation from areas outside IEEE Region 3 are also cordially encouraged and welcomed.

IEEE Nuclear & Plasma Science Symposium and Medical Imaging Conference to be held in Knoxville in 2010

IEEE Nuclear & Plasma Sciences Society will sponsor the "2010 IEEE Nuclear Science Symposium and Medical Imaging Conference (2010 NSS/MIC) ". This conference will be held October 28 - November 7, 2010 in Knoxville. NPS Symposiums
