Conference Highlights

The 2009 IEEE Industry Applications Society Annual Meeting is a gathering of experts who work and conduct research in the industrial application of electrical systems.  The 2009 IAS Annual Meeting will have a full program of tutorials and workshops alongside technical paper presentations.

The conference will constitute an exciting continuing education opportunity for practicing engineers in industry, and provide a place to exchange ideas, experience, and present and discuss new concepts in this field.

The papers and tutorials will cover applications-related topics such as power systems, lighting, mining, metals, appliances, applications of drives to industrial power systems, and IEEE Color Book Standards. The tutorial program will be vastly expanded in 2009 to complement the technical sessions and provide the attendee with a more comprehensive choice of technical venues. For those accustomed to the IAS Annual Meeting, papers more specifically focused on electrical drives, power converters, and electric machines will have a new home in 2009, at the first IEEE Energy Conversion Conference.

The conference will also be the 44th annual meeting of the membership of the IEEE Industry Applications Society, and various functions will take place to welcome members as well as non-members.

Conference Hotel

The meeting will be held at the Hyatt Regency Houston.
