The 2011 GOLD Summit was held on August 17-18, 2011 at the San Francisco Marriott Marquis.
The GOLD Summit is a series of two half-day sessions held prior to the 2011 IEEE Sections Congress: Empowering Members to Create the Future. The Summit provides an exceptional opportunity to impact the future of IEEE. It is an ideal place to network, exchange ideas, hone leadership skills, and gain a more in-depth working knowledge of IEEE and GOLD.
For the first time, a Multicultural Evening was held in conjunction with a Student Transition and Elevation Partnership (STEP) event entitled "Engineers of Tomorrow".
