IEEE GOLDRush is a quarterly newsletter published by IEEE GOLD (Graduates of the Last Decade) and is circulated to the approximately 60,000 GOLD members worldwide. 

It is an important source of news on GOLD activities to help raise awareness and encourage other young professionals around the globe to partake in similar volunteer activities.  It aims to meet the needs of young technology professionals around the world and help them to develop their careers by providing a range of articles on professional, social and technical topics.

 

Submission deadlines

Four (4) editions of GOLDRush are to be published each year in mid-March, mid-June, mid-September and mid-December.  These editions will be announced by email, published on the Web as a downloadable PDF file and summarized on Twitter.  

Submission deadlines for 2011 are as follows:
  • March 2011 edition - due by 11 February 2011
  • June 2011 edition - due by 6 May 2011
  • September 2011 edition - due by 19 August 2011
  • December 2011 edition - due by 7 November 2011

Submission guidelines

Submissions may be GOLD News items, notices for events, or member articles on any topic relevant to young professionals for the Peer-Reviewed Contributions section. 
 
  • Articles must be submitted in MS Word (doc/docx) or rtf format.
  • Submissions must be in English. 
  • Fonts and formatting are not required as all submissions will be formatted by the editor. 
  • Articles must be strictly no more than 700 words. 
  • Notices must be strictly no more than 200 words. 
 
Please include article title, author’s name, country or state/province, IEEE membership grade  (i.e. student, member, senior member, etc.), and IEEE member number. 
 
Attach photos both within the document and separately as jpeg files.  Remember to include captions for any photos. 
 

Please note that all articles and photo(s) will be peer-reviewed and edited if necessary.  Spelling, grammar, phrasing and length may be altered and there is no guarantee that by submitting your article it will be used in an upcoming IEEE GOLDRush Newsletter issue.  


The final decision to publish any article is made by the GOLDRush Editor.
