IEEE is pleased to offer our renewing members in Developing Nations the option to choose e-Membership.
With e-Membership you will receive an electronic PDF file that contains your membership card and membership materials. All publications that you previously received via postal mail will be delivered to you electronically, and can be accessed with your IEEE Account through IEEE Xplore.
All IEEE Membership benefits will otherwise remain the same. Your years of service, member grade and grade elevation eligibility are not affected by choosing e-Membership. Best of all, e-Membership offers you reduced base membership dues - just US$50. The standard regional assessment will still apply, and is the same whether you choose traditional or e-Membership.
Prefer to read your IEEE Spectrum magazine each month in print, or have a physical membership card? Then simply renew as your normally would. You are not required to select e-Membership.
Each year in October, members receive a renewal invoice which shows their current memberships and subscriptions.
To take advantage of the e-Membership option when you renew, you will need to renew online.
Be sure your profile information is up-to-date. e-Membership requires that you have a valid e-mail address.
If you've claimed a Special Circumstance in the past for IEEE Membership, note that this option is not available with e-Membership. However, a special circumstance can be claimed with any additional society memberships you have. Student members are not eligible for the e-Membership option.
