The IEEE Honors Ceremony will be held Saturday, 29 June 2013, at the Hilton San Diego Bayfront Hotel, CA, USA. IEEE President Peter Staecker will serve as the Master of Ceremonies along with co-presenter IEEE President-Elect Roberto de Marca. The theme of the ceremony is "Accelerating Advances."
The Honors Ceremony recognizes IEEE's most prestigious medal and recognition recipients. Irwin Mark Jacobs, founding Chairman and Chief Executive Emeritus of Qualcomm, Inc., will be recognized for the IEEE Medal of Honor, IEEE's highest-level award.
