Engineering the Vote

Sounds a mite shifty, but it is really about exercising our rights and weighing in on issues of consequence. At the national, state, local – and IEEE levels. It really does make a difference, and while not all folks are into activism, one can vote at the very least.

We do have a robust public policy effort at IEEE, and Orange County in particular. If you have an interest in this or any of the other initiatives, please drop us a line. A good first step is for you to come out to our Executive Committee meeting, and get a feel for the team and the many projects in the works.

The July 2008 IEEE-OC Career Fair was a resounding success with over 200 attendees. Considering the traction, we expect to make it an annual event - serving company tech recruiting needs, our members, and the OC community at large. Congratulations to our volunteers who made it all happen.

Do check out our calendar of events. We are sure there will be some events of interest to you.

Warm regards,
Sampath
