Educational Programs

IEEE-USA General Fund
Supports special projects conducted by IEEE-USA that provide professional development and employment assistance services to IEEE Members in the United States, educate U.S. policy-makers and the public at large about the technical implications of complex policy issues and promote public awareness and appreciation of engineers and their contributions to society. IEEE Educational Activities Fund
Supports and advances programs and projects of IEEE Educational Activities Board in the areas of Pre-college Education, Accreditation Activities, and Continuing Education Programs for Engineers.

IEEE Microwave Education Fund
Supports a diverse set of educational aids, scholarship and fellowships of the IEEE Microwave Theory and Techniques Society.

Hoover High School Engineering Academy Fund
Provides the Hoover High School Engineering Academy, a national pilot program that prepares bright mathematics and science students for a profession in engineering, located in Hoover, Alabama, USA, the ability to purchase resources to advance the program not provided by the local school district.

Santa Clara Valley K-12 Education Fund
Supports the pre-college educational objectives of the IEEE Santa Clara Valley Section.

Scholarships

ATM Scholarship Fund
Sponorsed by: Southeast Region ATM Interest Group
Administered by the IEEE Eastern North Carolina Section (ENCS), the ATM Scholarship is awarded to a North Carolina IEEE student member pursuing a graduate degree the in computer communications research area – including data communications, computer networking, telecommunications, multimedia communications and other related disciplines.

IEEE President's Scholarship Fund
Administered by IEEE Educational Activities, each year the IEEE Presidents' Scholarship recognizes a deserving student for an outstanding project in electrical engineering, information technology or other IEEE field of interest presented during the annual Intel International Science and Engineering Fair.

EMCS President's Memorial Fund
Administered by the IEEE Electromagnetic Compatibility Society, the EMC Society President's Memorial Award is a scholarship given to a full-time student with a demonstrated commitment to the field of Electromagnetic Compatibility who is pursuing an M.S. or Ph.D. degree.

Edith Hannigan-McHale Scholarship Fund
Sponsored by: Gale G. Hannigan, Ph.D. in memory of her Aunt
Administered by the Women in Engineering Committee, the Edith Hannigan-McHale Scholarship is awarded annually to a female student, who attends the John Adams High School, Queens, New York, USA. Applicants must present evidence of academic accomplishments, two letters of referral, a personal statement that reflects the candidate’s career goals and designate a major or program of study in a field of engineering, physics or math. 

IEEE Daniel J. Senese Memorial Scholarship Fund
Sponsored by: Friends, colleagues and the IEEE in memory of Daniel J. Senese
Administered by the IEEE, the IEEE Daniel J. Senese Memorial Scholarship is awarded annually to a deserving Piscataway High School, Piscataway, NJ, USA, graduating senior enrolled in an accredited college or university, who is majoring in a field of interest of the IEEE.

Fellowships

Life Member Graduate Study Fellowship Fund
Sponsored by: IEEE Life Members Committee.
Administered by the IEEE Awards Board, the IEEE Life Member Graduate Study Fellowship is awarded annually to a first year full-time graduate work in any area of electrical engineering at an engineering school/program of recognized standing worldwide.

Motorola-IEEE CPMT Fellowship Fund
Sponsored by: Motorola, Inc.
Administered by the IEEE Components, Packaging, and Manufacturing Technology Society, the Motorola-IEEE CPMT Society Graduate Student Fellowship is presented to a student enrolled full-time in a graduate curriculum leading to a Ph.D. and whose major field of interest is in electronic packaging.

Noble Fellowship Fund
Sponsored by: Motorola and IEEE Vehicular Technology Society
Administered by the IEEE Vehicular Technology Society, the Daniel E. Noble Fellowship Award is given to promote graduate-level study in Vehicular Technology to a student with a bachelors degree in engineering or physical science from a university or college of recognized standing.

VTS Graduate Fellowship Fund
Sponsored by: IEEE Vehicular Technology Society
Administered by the IEEE Vehicular Technology Society, The Convergence Fellowship in Transportation Electronics is given to promote graduate-level study in Vehicular Technology to a student with an undergraduate degree in electrical engineering from an ABET accredited school in either the U.S. or Canada.

Grainger-IEEE PES Student Program Fund
Sponsored by: The Grainger Foundation
Administeredy by the IEEE Power Engineering Society, the Grainger-IEEE PES Student Program encourages the participation by US citizens and/or US permanent residents enrolled in curricula focused on electric power engineering in IEEE-PES meetings by providing the funds needed for student poster sessions, technical tours, panel sessions and other student oriented programs.

Harold Sobol Memorial Fund

Administered by the IEEE Microwave Theory and Techniques Society, the Harold Sobol Travel Grant program provides travel support for at least one talented student selected to present their work during the Student Paper Competition of the annual IEEE International Microwave Symposium. James A. Rooks Memorial Fund

Administered by the IEEE Industry Applications Society, this fund supports the IEEE-IAS James A. Rooks Memorial Student Intern Program, which subsidizes the cost of attendance of student interns at the annual IEEE-IAS Pulp and Paper Conference.

Leo L. Beranek Student Travel Grant Fund

Mikio Takagi Student Prize Fund

Spoken Language Processing Student Grant Fund

Administered by the IEEE Signal Processing Society, the Spoken Language Processing Student Grant program honors the student(s) of an outstanding paper(s) in spoken language processing area accepted for publication in a conference (IEEE International Conference on Acoustics, Speech and Signal Processing) or a workshop (IEEE Workshop on Automatic Speech Recognition and Understanding).

IEEE Student Enterprise Award Fund

Administered by the IEEE Member and Geographic Activities Board, the IEEE Student Enterprise Award program awards up to US$1,500 to selected IEEE Student Branches around the world to implement an engineering project or activity that strengthens IEEE Student Branch programs and encourages IEEE Student members to collaborate on a specific project.
