Goldsmith League

You are invited to join a very special group of individuals the - Goldsmith League - the IEEE Foundation's planned giving donor recognition group.

Named for Alfred N. and Gertrude Goldsmith, the Goldsmith League recognizes individuals who have made, or have shared their intention to make, a planned gift to the IEEE or IEEE Foundation. As a founder of the Institute of Radio Engineers, a predecessor society of the IEEE, Alfred N. Goldsmith made a personal commitment to furthering the goals of the profession during his lifetime. He perpetuated that commitment after his death by providing a bequest through his estate. Gertrude honored her husband's legacy in the engineering community and made the IEEE Foundation the beneficiary of a generous portion of her estate. Together, their philanthropic vision seeded the IEEE Foundation's ability to support philanthropic activities that advance education and the beneficial use of technology.

In addition to the Goldsmith's generosity, the IEEE Foundation has been the beneficiary of many such gifts, both large and small. Regardless of size, each gift is critical to sustaining our goal to bring the exhilaration of scientific discovery to students, foster technological literacy, preserve history, and promote public awareness of the long-reaching effects of engineering.

Please consider remembering the IEEE Foundation in your estate plans. Membership in this group is open to any individual who has made, or shares their intention to leave a bequest to the IEEE Foundation in their will, living trust or charitable remainder trust; name the IEEE Foundation as the beneficiary of their retirement plan or life insurance; or gift a portion of their traditional or Roth IRA during their lifetime. Details are kept strictly confidential. Donors who wish to remain anonymous have the option of not being listed.

We thank those who have made a commitment to IEEE or the IEEE Foundation in their estate planning. Remember, a planned gift is a gift that will benefit future generations of engineers.
