Project Reporting Guidelines

Project Reports must be submitted using the online forms provided on the IEEE Foundation web site.
Project Reports must include the grant identification number supplied by the IEEE Foundation.
The Project Leader may designate a contact person to act on his/her behalf for all communications.
Project reports must be provided by the Project Leader in accordance with the following guidelines:

  • The Project Leader must submit periodic status reports which are tied to significant project milestones, as defined by the Project Leader in the grant proposal and agreed to by the IEEE Foundation Grants Committee.   Such reports shall be submitted with adequate frequency (typically not more frequently than every six months or less frequently than once a year) and timeliness (two weeks after completion of the appropriate milestone) to permit meaningful and timely feedback to the Project Leader by the IEEE Foundation Projects Committee, as may be required.   Furthermore, a final report accounting for the expenditure of funds and for an assessment of the project's success in achieving its stated goals and objectives must be submitted by the Project Leader within one month of the completion of the project.
  • Status Reports are to review the proposed milestone(s) and intended outcomes being pursued during the reporting period.   They should report on the degree to which the milestone(s) were accomplished, and on the extent to which the milestone(s) were achieved within the funds allocated for that purpose.
  • The Final Report should summarize the project's goals and objectives, and intended outcomes, as well as provide an objective assessment of the project's success in achieving these.   Furthermore, the Final Report should provide an accounting for the actual expenditure of funds compared with the funding plan as originally proposed.   In addition, a description should be provided to illustrate the benefits that may be derived by IEEE members or IEEE Organizational Units through the replication or extension of this project.
