The IEEE Power Engineering Society (PES) General Meeting
Awards Luncheon was held 26 June 2007 at the Tampa Marriot Waterside Hotel, Florida. PES President John McDonald presided, and Karen Butler-Purry, PES Awards and Recognition Committee chair, introduced the recipients.
The following awards were presented during the luncheon:
- IEEE Herman Halperin Electric Transmission and Distribution Award to Eric B. Forsyth
- Charles Concordia Power Systems Engineering Award to Richard G. Farmer
- Outstanding Power Engineering Educator Award to Goran Andersson, professor, Swiss Federal Institute of Technology
- Uno Lamm HVDC Award to H. Peter Lips
- Award for Excellence in Power Distribution Engineering to Cheryl A. Warren
- Nari Hingorani FACTS Award to Aniruddha M. Gole
- Prize Paper Award for "Condition Monitoring and Fault Diagnosis of Electric Motors" to Sabhasis Nandi, Hamid Toliyat, and Xiaodong Li
- Prize Paper Award for "Comparative Laboratory Evaluation of Pre-Molded Joints for Medium Voltage Cables" to Vitaliy Yaroslavskiy, Michael Walker, Carlos Katz, and Robert Keefe
- Working Group Recognition AwardOutstanding Technical Report for "Application Consideration of IEC 61850/UCA 2 for Substation Ethernet Local Area Network Communication for Protection and Control" to Alex Apostolov, Working Group committee member
- Working Group Recognition AwardOutstanding Standard or Guide for "IEEE Std. C37.119" to Arvind Chaudhary, Working Group vice-chair
- Outstanding Large Chapter to Vancouver Chapter, Meliha Selak, chair
- Outstanding Small Chapter to Richland Chapter, Zhenyu Huang, chair.
