LEOS Members Receive IEEE Third Millennium Medals

LEOS will present 23 members with the IEEE Third Millennium Medal. The medals awarded by LEOS recognize persons who have made significant technical contributions to the various technologies within its field of interest as well as persons who made service contributions to LEOS. The criteria that was used for selecting those who made significant technical contributions relied on previous recognition by LEOS. For this purpose, previous LEOS Award winners will be presented with one of these medals (only one per person). Because of the small number of remaining medals LEOS had to distribute, membership contributions were limited to recognization of the Society’s Past Presidents. The medals will be presented at the LEOS Annual Meeting in November.
