| Are you interested
in helping to run the NPSS? The NPSS AdCom (Administrative Committee)
is the body that “runs” the NPSS, which includes setting
the policies for all of the conferences and publications that the
NPSS sponsors. Each year we hold elections for approximately one
quarter of the sixteen elected AdCom positions. This summer we will
be holding elections for AdCom members elected from three NPSS communities:
Plasma Science (the community that puts on ICOPS), Nuclear Medical
and Imaging Sciences (the community that puts on MIC), and Transnational
(a geographically-based rather than technically-based community).
These are four-year terms that begin on January 1, 2009. In general,
the requirements are that you are a member of both the IEEE and
the NPSS (which basically includes everybody who receives this Newsletter)
and that you have an interest in one of those five technical areas.
If you are interested in running for one of these positions, you
must let me know (wwmoses@lbl.gov)
by July 1 of this year. You will be asked to submit a 200-word biography
plus a 200-word position statement. Please feel free to contact
me if you have any questions or need more information.
