The Plasma Science & Applications Committee invite our members and colleagues from around the world to join us for the 29th International Conference on Plasma Science in the town of Banff, Alberta, Canada. A four day technical program is planned that will provide an opportunity for our community to share the latest scientific and technical progress.
The Banff Conference Centre will be the venue for the conference. The Conference Centre is located in the picturesque town of Banff in the heart of the scenic Canadian Rocky Mountains, 138 kilometers west of Calgary. The surrounding Banff National Park is designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Nearby there are many mountain and valley hiking trails, the spectacular Lake Louise and Victoria Glacier, boat tours of Lake Minnewanka and the famous Banff hot springs to relax after a day of conference sessions. Many opportunities exist for excursions and tours, a few of which will be highlighted in the companion program.
1.0 Basic processes in fully and
partially ionized plasmas.
2.0 Microwave generation and microwave - plasma interactions.
3.0 Charged particle beams and sources.
4.0 High energy density plasmas and their interactions
5.0 Commercial applications of plasmas
6.0 Plasma diagnostics
7.0 Pulsed power and other plasma technology applications
The conference program will include oral and poster sessions for four days. There will be one plenary talk at the beginning of each morning and afternoon to give an overview of leading developments in Plasma Science. The oral sessions will include both invited and contributed presentations.
At the end of the conference a mini-course is planned on Plasma Simulations which will allow workers in the field to learn about state of the art techniques for modeling and analyzing the behavior of complex plasma systems.
