Jamie D. C. Darling was born in Taunton, Somerset, UK, in March 1984. He received the M.Eng. degree with 1st class honours in engineering science from the University of Oxford in 2006. His final year work on developing a transmission line transformer switched mode power supply was awarded the electronics fourth year project prize. Since then he has been engaged in research on pulse burst generation via nonlinear lumped element transmission line technology with an interest in high power RF applications. Currently working in the Pulsed Power and Plasma Physics group at the University of Oxford, he is due to complete the D.Phil degree towards the end of 2009.
