Distinguished Lecturers:
A New Attraction for SSCS Chapters

The SSCS Distinguished Lecturers Program was fully funded by an action of AdCom at its August 28 meeting. Last June the nine SSCS chapters received the list of the Society’s dozen newly appointed Distinguished Lecturers. The funding of the program is the final step enabling full use of this program of technical experts.

IEEE chapters report that the Distinguished Lecturers Program is the most popular IEEE offers. The Distinguished Lecturers provide stimulating presentations for SSCS Chapter meetings on today’s challenges and solutions in solid-state circuit designs and implementations. The speakers can be a strong draw for good attendance at the local meetings. Meeting with and exchanging cutting edge practice and applications with industry leaders is one of the true values of membership. It’s the kind of value local chapters can show to industry to build support and interest in Society membership.

Each SSCS Distinguished Lecturer has his travel expenses supported by the Society to insure a broad exposure for his topic of expertise. The program is open to a variety of audiences in a prescribed order of preference: Solid-State Circuits Chapters, Student Chapters, other Societies and non-IEEE affiliated organizations. Interested groups should contact the speakers directly on their availability and travel schedule.
