Well, how do you like the new layout of the Newsletter? May be you were so engrossed in the exciting content of the Newsletter that you didn't notice the new look! The 3-year young Newsletter has grown substantially in quality and quantity of the contents, and in the readership from around the world. It was felt that an improved appearance is needed to reflect the growth the Newsletter has experienced. We completely redesigned the header and the color scheme with the help of the IEEE publication staff. Besides the bright colors and attractive fonts, the header has a subtle but distinct background of an IC layout. There is also " In This Issue" on the front page to help you find the articles of your interest quickly.
Starting this issue, we have enlisted IEEE staff for the publication of the Newsletter and would like to take this opportunity to thank John Wourinen and his staff for their hard work and dedication in publishing the Newsletter during its painful growing days. We are all excited about the new look and hope you are too. I welcome your comments and suggestions to improve the Newsletter further.
By the way, with the new year just around the corner, please review the Events Calendar (p. 12) and mark your calendars for the 1999 events of your interest. Wishing you a very happy and prosperous new year.
