IEEE Solid-State Circuits Society awards 1998-99 Pre-Doctoral Fellowship to Jouko Vankka

Jouko K. Vankka

The IEEE Solid-State Circuits Society is pleased to award its 1998-99 Pre-Doctoral Fellowship to Jouko Vankka.

Jouko K. Vankka (S’96) was born in Helsinki, Finland, in 1965. He received the M.S. degree in electrical engineering from Helsinki University of Technology, Finland, in 1991.

Since 1995 he has been with the Electronic Circuit Design Laboratory at the Helsinki University of Technology, and he is currently working as a research scientist toward the Ph.D. degree. Before joining the Helsinki University of Technology, he was with Nokia Telecommunications, Finland. His research interests include VLSI architectures and mixed-signal integrated circuits for communication applications. He is author or co-author 20 technical papers related to his research work in the Helsinki University of Technology.

Mr. Vankka received the Young Investigator of the Year Award from the Finnish Society of Electronics Engineers in 1998. A presentation will be made at the 1999 ISSCC.
