Readers are encouraged to submit papers and correspondence to the IEEE Transactions on Broadcasting.
Types of Contributions: Contributions may be papers or correspondence. The distinction is not one of quality, but rather of nature.
A paper is a presentation of significant research, development, or application of broadcast technology. Papers include contributions from authors that describe useful new results, ideas, or innovations that advance the state-of-the-art of broadcast technology engineering, systems, and applications. Alternatively, papers may present tutorial expositions on topics of current interest.
A correspondence is a concise description of a contribution to a specific aspect of design, realization, or operation of a broadcast technology. Correspondence can include preliminary results and short reports on completed work that is of current interest to workers in the field of broadcast technology. Correspondence serves also as a means to comment on previously published papers, suggestions for new work, and errata. A short, well-written correspondence could be published more rapidly than a paper. Correspondence contributions are subjected to the same peer review process used for papers.
Peer Review
This Transactions employs the peer-review system in the processing of manuscripts, to ensure that this publication retains its position as the premier source of archival literature used worldwide for the development of broadcast technology and the profession. Three reviewers, or at least two reviewers, and an Associate Editor who actively work in the field, shall review each manuscript. The Associate Editor forwards the reviewer comments for the revision of the manuscript to the author. The final decision on the publication of the manuscript is based on the opinions expressed by the reviewers plus the judgement of the Associate Editor who is managing the peer review process.
Submission - You may submit your paper via mail or email.
Submission of a manuscript amounts to assurance that it has received proper clearance from the author's company or institution, that it has not been copyrighted, published, or accepted for publication elsewhere, that it is not currently being considered for publication elsewhere, and that it will not be submitted elsewhere while under consideration.
For submission of a paper via mail please include:
- References, which must include full titles and first and last page numbers, and all authors' names.
- The completed IEEE Copyright Form
- A CD containing the text portion of the paper and the figures.
- A short list of indexing terms (available by emailing keywords@ieee.org)
All papers must be sent to the BTS Editorial Office at:
