Matti S. Siukola Memorial Award Marks 20th Anniversary on
4 November 2002
The Matti S. Siukola Memorial Award, given each year for the best paper
presented at the previous Broadcast Symposium, was recently awarded to Oded Bendov, President of TV Transmission Antenna Group for his paper, "Interference to UHF-DTTV Channels by Unliscensed Devices," at this year's Awards
Luncheon on Friday, 2 November 2007. The award was established in 1982 "to
encourage presentation at the Annual Fall Broadcasting Symposium of technical
papers of excellence by authors engaged in the field of broadcast engineering."
It honors Dr. Siukola, an eminent broadcast antenna engineer for more
than thirty years, who was stricken with a fatal heart attack as he completed
his presentation at the 1980 Symposium.
