About AVFOP 2009
The Annual IEEE Avionics, Fiber-Optics and Photonics Technology Workshop (AVFOP'09) will be held 22-24 September 2009 at the Omni La Mansion Del Rio, San Antonio, Texas, USA . For this conference, AVFOP '09 will continue the tradition of bringing together scientists from academia and industry to share recent developments in the field. The aerospace industry has made great strides in recent years deploying fiber optics and photonics technology on commercial and military platforms. This trend will continue to grow as avionics fiber optic system architectures, networking schemes, and components evolve and mature. In parallel with data and video transmission, photonics technology for analog/RF, flight control, free-space communication, and vehicle monitoring applications will have an increasing role in future aerospace platforms. This application-oriented conference will provide a common international forum for leaders, researchers, engineers, technicians, logisticians, manufacturers, and instructors to convene and discuss all aspects of severe environment fiber optic component, systems, reliability, maintainability, producibility and supportability technology, and its future direction.
