GFP 2006
Third International Conference on Group IV Photonics
September 13-15, 2006
Crowne Plaza Hotel, Ottawa Canada
The Group IV Photonics Conference welcomes contributions from the international scientific community in the areas of silicon-based photonic devices and systems, as well as the physics and materials science necessary to develop those devices.
In 2006, the conference will be held in Ottawa, Canada from September 13-15. Ottawa, a city of approximately 1 million people, is the capital city of Canada and also supports the largest concentration of semiconductor and photonics companies in the country. It is serviced by its own international airport, and is conveniently located within about two hours flying time from all the major cities in the north-eastern United States and eastern Canada. This will be the third meeting following on two very successful conferences in Hong Kong in 2004, and Antwerp in 2005.
The conference program will include:
- A plenary session with research overviews given by distinguished researchers in the field
- Regular sessions of consisting of peer reviewed contributed talks and invited papers
- Poster sessions for the presentation and discussion of peer reviewed contributed papers
- Panel discussions on themes of importance to researchers and industry
