Conference Information:
The demand for higher speed Ethernet from carriers and system operators, beyond the currently deployed and rapidly growing 10 Gigabit Ethernet ( GbE ) applications for IP router interconnections, necessitates next generation Ethernet technology, which is very likely to be 100 Gigabit Ethernet ( GbE ). An IEEE High Speed Study Group has been formed to prepare for a corresponding IEEE Task Force in late 2007, with the ratification of 100 GbE to be completed by 2009/2010. This symposium brings together participants to discuss the technical and economical viability of 100 GbE.
