Optical Communications

The subcommittee on Optical Communications solicits papers on recent technological advances in this field ranging from basic science to innovative demonstrations. Topics of interest include: optical transmission-both fiber based and free-space optics, undersea, terrestrial long-haul, metropolitan-area and local-access communication systems, video, RF, and packet transmission, component and subsystem technologies as applied to optical communication systems, including electronic signal processing, management of dispersion and nonlinearities, polarization mode dispersion, active/passive components and technologies for multichannel (WDM. TDM, etc.) systems.
