Optical Networks and Systems

The subcommittee on Optical Networks and Systems solicits papers on original research in all aspects of this topical area. Topics of interest include, transparent optical networks, access networks and associated subsystems, LANs, MANs, and optical interconnection networks, network elements, including optical cross-connects and OADMs, optical packet switched networks, internet switches and routers, subsystems technologies as they apply to optical networks, including alignment and synchronization modules, high-capacity network interfaces, buffering, contention resolution and arbitration schemes, optical burst switching networks and subsystems, physical layer impairments as they apply to network performance and scalability, network architectures, performance analysis, traffic modeling, wavelength routing, bandwidth allocation algorithms and protocols.
