You can reach Freiburg by:
Over the motorway A-5 Frankfurt-Karlsruhe-Basel. Freiburg is accessible via the autobahn A5, about halfway between Karlsruhe and Basel. Leave the autobahn at the exit Freiburg Mitte; and follow the directions towards Freiburg on the route B31. In town, leave the B31 at the exit to the main station (Hauptbahnhof). After crossing the bridge over the B31, you will soon see the Congress and Convention Center (Konzerthaus) on the right-hand side.

The nearest international airport Basel-Mulhouse-Freiburg, which is located only 40 minutes away from Freiburg. There is a direct fast bus shuttle to Freiburg's main station. Travel time by bus is approximately 1:00. Bus schedules can be found at www.freiburger-reisedienst.de.
The best airport for international connections is the Frankfurt Rhein-Main Airport. There are hourly direct high-speed train (ICE) connections from the Frankfurt airport terminal to Freiburg. You may also travel via the Zurich Airport in Switzerland. This airport also has an hourly train connection to Freiburg. The travel time by train is about 2:00. The Stuttgart airport is approximately 3:00 by train. Smaller airports are also located in Freiburg, Baden-Baden and Strasbourg.
