Winter Topicals 2009
Innsbruck, Austria | 12 -14 January 2009
On behalf of the Topical Chairs, Organizing Committee and Program Committees, it is my great pleasure to welcome you already to the 2nd IEEE LEOS Winter Topicals 2009.
The LEOS Topicals Series are gaining world wide recognition as a prime conference for discussing research and industry hot topics and networking with the technology leaders.
The aim of the Topical conference series is to bring together leading experts from research and industry and to provide a familiar atmosphere for discussing new, innovative and upcoming technology trends. Due to the great response of last years first IEEE LEOS Winter Topicals I am extremely happy to continue the success story of the Topicals in Europe.
The philosophy of the Topical series can be summarized in a single sentence:
"The IEEE LEOS Topicals serve as breeding ground,
where experts launch the conferences of tomorrow!"
The philosophy is reflected in the highly competitive selection process for the Topics to be held as only a select few will be chosen. The Topics are selected on the following criteria:
- Importance and relevance of the proposed topic.
- Ability of the proposed organizers to put together a conference and attract a reasonable number of invited speakers and submitted papers.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank the Topics Chairs and Committee members who voluntarily are investing their own time inviting speakers, selecting papers, and arranging their respective sessions. I would also like to express my sincere appreciation to the LEOS staff who professionally organized this years Winter Topicals.
Last but not least, I would like to extend my thanks to the invited and contributed speakers, as well as the participants as their active involvement is the basis for the continued high quality of this conference.
Have a great time!
