SAMIEEE - known issues
3 March  2008 << Access SAMIEEE >> Please read the following before continuing There are 5 known defects in SAMIEEE that we are working to correct or resolve ASAP.  Please be aware of them and how they might affect your results. Current Defects Field Defect Scheduled to be Corrected by . . . Issue Some members appear to be in the wrong Section.  In nearly all cases, the member is correctly assigned, the address is appearing incorrectly. This is a very small percentage of active members. But visible none-the-less. We are experiencing a challenge with address changes and record synchronization. We have identified the causes of the failed transactions and have already begun to clean the data. However, the fix for the root cause is in development as it involves a complete address redesign. This is scheduled for August. Until the address redesign is implemented we will be continually cleaning the data to minimize the problem We remain dedicated to providing the best possible SAMIEEE user experience. To this end, if throughout the period of address redesign you find instances of this type of address / section mismatch please send an email to samieee@ieee.org and let us know. Updates will be posted here as well as the SAMIEEE online Community Technical Interest Profile Folder - All Fields When including any of the TIP fields, query will only produce results for members who have a TIP Code selected on their records.  Members where these fields are blank do not appear. This defect is being worked on and will be corrected with the Upgrade slated for May 2008. Grade History Folder - IEEE Grade Hist-Grade Effective Years When this field is included in a query - it will only return records where this field is populated.  Members where these fields are blank do not appear.   This defect is being worked on and will be corrected with the Upgrade slated for May 2008. Member Education/All Fields When including a field (any field) in a query - it will only return records where this field is populated.  Members where these fields are blank do not appear.   This defect is being worked on and will be corrected with the Upgrade slated for May 2008. Member Info/Primary Address/ Primary Company Or Attn Information available for this field does not always show in results.  All Records do appear, but for some members this field remains blank. IT is currently looking into the defect.   A work around would to use the Work/School Address contact fields instead. NOTES:  If you have used one of the following three fields in a saved query, please delete them, Save, then add them back. Members and Affiliates/IEEE Profile/Membership Status Change Date Designation/Active Volunteer Flag Y/N Grade History/IEEE Grade Hist - Grade Effective Years If you saved the "Email Address Modified Date" field in a query, please remove it. This field no longer exists. Corrected Defects Field Defect Scheduled to be Corrected by . . . Email Address Modified Date Field This field shows empty for all records. Field removed on 3 March 2008 Member Info/Phones and Emails/Home Phone When placing the Home Phone field in a query, it limits the produced results.  (appears that records are missing.) Defect corrected 3 March 2008 Members and Affiliates/Business Profile (BPA)/All Fields When placing any of the fields available in this folder in a query, it limits the produced results.  (appears that records are missing.) Defect corrected 3 March 2008 IEEE Membership Status Change Date Field When placing any of the fields available in this folder in a query, it limits the produced results.  (appears that records are missing.) Defect corrected 3 March 2008 IEEE Current Grade Start Date When placing any of the fields available in this folder in a query, it limits the produced results.  (appears that records are missing.) Defect corrected 3 March 2008 Designations/Active Volunteer Flag Y/N This field was not giving accurate results.  A partial fix has been made until the next upgrade.  Currently can show both a Y and N for a single record. This field now provides a status of an individual position held by a Volunteer. If a Volunteer has an Active and an Inactive position, a "Y" is returned for the Active position and an "N" for the Inactive position.  To use this field to obtain correct results, until a full fix in the next upgrade.  Place a filter on the field to find "Y" only.   This will give you only volunteers that currently hold "Active Volunteer Positions" << Access SAMIEEE >> Send email to samieee@ieee.org Access the SAMIEEE Online Community
