Kozo Hayashi


Kozo HayashiAt NHK Mr. Kozo Hayashi helped to encourage research with the establishment of several key standards, including setting HDTV screen ruling at 1125 lines–the basic HDTV standard today.After retiring from NHK, he joined Sharp Corporation, Japan, to improve the performance of consumer HDTV receivers.

He is a Fellow of the IEEE and an Honorary Member of the Institute of Television Engineers in Japan. His honors include the Minister’s Award from Japan’s Ministry of Posts and Telecommunication and the Takayanagi Memorial Award. Mr. Hayashi is a retired senior executive director of Sharp Corporation.
