Karl Heinz Rosenbrock
Karl Heinz Rosenbrock has been a leader in communications standardization for more than 30 years. During his tenure with the former Federal Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications in Bonn, Germany, he was responsible for the digitalization of the German telephone network and the introduction of Integrated Service Digital Network technology. Since 1990, he has been Director-General of the European Telecommunications Standards Institute, leading the unification of European telecommunications standardization and establishing ETSI as a dominant standardization body.
Mr. Rosenbrock’s leadership and skill also helped to create the Third Generation Partnership Project for the development of third-generation wireless standards. This body brings together the interests of Europe, Japan, South Korea, China, and the United States. Now Vice Chair of the group, he previously served two terms as the 3GPP Coordination Group Chair.
