Sarma P. Maruvada
Sarma P. Maruvada's work in the analysis and measurement of audible noise and radio interference on transmission line conductors has significantly furthered the study of electromagnetic fields and corona phenomena associated with high voltage AC/DC power lines. During his 30-year tenure with the Hydro Quebec Institute of Research in Canada, his efforts in the sensitive areas of human and environmental impact have been particularly far reaching. His research has been used by the Canadian Standards Association to develop high-voltage AC standards. His book, Corona Performance of High-Voltage Transmission Lines, serves as a defining guide for professionals in the field.
A Fellow of the IEEE and an Honorary Member of CIGRE, his many awards and honors include the Platinum Jubilee Alumni Distinguished Achievement Award of the Indian Institute of Science. He is currently a consultant.
