Austin H. Bonnett


Austin H. BonnettAustin H. Bonnett has long championed the efficient performance of motors, arguing that efficiency can improve reliability and safety due to lower temperatures, improved bearing life and quieter operation. His 35 years of experience as a leader at U.S. Electrical Motors, a division of Emerson Electric Company, and his efforts with U.S. National Electrical Manufacturers Association, IEEE, Electric Power Institute, and U.S. Department of Energy standards committees have gained him the title of "voice of the motor industry."

A Fellow of the IEEE, his honors include the IEEE Industry Applications Society Outstanding Achievement Award, the IEEE Meritorious Award, an IEEE Third Millennium Medal, the NEMA Kite and Key award and numerous prize paper awards. Mr. Bonnett is vice president of technology emeritus at U.S. Electrical Motors, in Chesterfield, Mo. and a consultant.
