Nomination Deadline - January 31st
The IEEE Solid-State Circuits Award was established by the Board of Directors in 1987 to honor an individual, or team of up to three, for outstanding contributions to solid-state circuits, as exemplified by benefit to society, enhancement to technology, and professional leadership.
The award was renamed the IEEE Donald O. Pederson Award in Solid-State Circuits in 2005. Don was a co-founder of the IEEE Solid-State Circuits Council, the forerunner of today's Solid-State Circuits Society, in 1966, and he was instrumental in launching the IEEE Journal of Solid-State Circuits that same year.
Recipient selection is administered through the Technical Field Awards Council of the IEEE Awards Board.
In the evaluation process, the following criteria are considered: impact, timeliness, quality, societal benefit, technology enhancement and creativity associated with the contribution, as well as the leadership and professional contributions of individual(s) identified with this achievement, and the quality of the nomination.
The Award consists of a bronze medal, certificate and honorarium.
