IEEE Life Member Fund

The IEEE Life Member Fund was originally established as the Members-for-Life fund by the AIEE Board of Directors on 24 January 1944.  The fund supports the activities of interest to Life Members, potential engineers and engineering students.

The Life Member Fund is supported by the generosity of IEEE members. Since 1998, nearly 70% of the income into the LMF has come from the kindness of IEEE members.

Contributions made to the Life Member Fund support numerous programs that benefit members at all levels of the IEEE.  Over $US1M has been distributed from the LMF since 1998 to support the following:

24% - History Projects
23% - Educational Projects
17% - Awards
13% - Student or Young  Engineers
12% - Life Member Benefits
11% - Operational Expenses

For US members, contributions to the LMF are tax deductible.  Please contact the Development Office staff by phone: +1 732 562-3915; fax: +1 732 981-9515; or e-mail: supportieee@ieee.org for a confidential discussion of the opportunities and benefits available to you as you consider a gift to the IEEE Life Member Fund.
