IEEE Corporate Activities encompasses many aspects of the IEEE. It is here that governance actions and activities of the IEEE Board of Directors, Executive Committee (ExCom) and Assembly are coordinated and supported. The IEEE Bylaws, Policies, and Constitution are the Institute's governing documents that are maintained here. |

The top-level leadership of the IEEE is determined by the voting members in the Annual Election, by vote of the IEEE Assembly and through appointments made by the Board of Directors and ExCom with the assistance of the Nominations and Appointments Committee. The IEEE has grown and continues to move forward through the efforts of its volunteers dedicated to recognizing outstanding contributions through IEEE Awards and expanding the goals of the Institute through programs supported by the IEEE Foundation. The work of the standing committees further the goals of the Institute in different areas including IEEE Women in Engineering, (WIE) which centers on the advancement of women in the engineering and science professions. Goals include the development of mentoring and educational programs, the publications of relevant information, and special initiatives. WIE is an Organizational unit concerned with women in IEEE and the profession.
