Who are the members of the IEEE N&A Committee?

The N&A Committee consists of the Chair, Chair-Elect, Past Chair, the Chair of each IEEE Major Board's N&A Committee, the Awards Board Chair, and six Members-at-Large. View the current N&A membership roster .


I have been solicited for willingness to serve on an IEEE Standing Committee.  When will I know if I am appointed?

Solicitation for willingness to serve does not guarantee either a nomination by the N&A Committee or an appointment by the IEEE Board of Directors. 

Normally, Standing Committee Chairs, Credential Committee Members, and the IEEE Women in Engineering Committee Student Member are appointed, to serve in the following year, by the Board at its second regularly scheduled meeting of the year, typically in June.  

Standing Committee Members are normally appointed, to serve in the following year, at the Board's third regularly scheduled meeting of the year, typically in November.

If appointed by the Board of Directors, you will be notified shortly after the meeting at which the appointment was made.

Are biographies necessary?

Yes. Your biography is an important tool when the N&A Committee is deliberating over potential candidates as not all IEEE members are known to the N&A Committee members.

Are position statements required?

Yes. Position statements are required of nominees for Standing Committee Chairs and Assembly elected positions.
