- Coordinate implementation of the new Student/GOLD Ambassador Lecturers Program.
- Investigate having EDS DLs prepare Powerpoint talks (with or without) audio to be offered to EDS chapters in lieu of having a lecturer give an in-person talk and also to have such presentations serve as a replacement for the EDS Videotape Lending Library.
- As a means to increase the benefits to EDS members, work with Publications VP on possibility of converting all IEDM short course videotapes to DVD.
- MEETING-RELATED
- Participate in IEEE-wide initiative to follow-up with conferences to obtain the Xplore-compliant CD for their proceedings to improve the posting time of the proceedings to Xplore.
- Coordinate with management of the Photovoltaic Specialists Conference to have IEEE Corporate, IEEE Marketing, and EDS Staff have booths at the June 2009 Conference to promote IEEE ad EDS memberships (with credit vouchers promotions) and sell and demonstrate IEEE and EDS products and services.
- MEMBERSHIP-RELATED
- Research the possibility and implement the offering of an EDS ‘Celebrated’ Membership whereby EDS would invite and pay for well-known and respected individuals in the field to become IEEE and EDS members.
- Attempt to develop a new registration rate structure for all EDS 100% financially sponsored conferences which would include an ‘EDS Member’ rate which will be less than the IEEE Rate.
- PUBLICATION-RELATED
- Look into the possibility of establishing an EDS ‘express publishing’ type of journal.
- Finalize the specifications, coordinate and perform testing and implement to have the manuscripts of T-ED entered and reviewed via the web using the Manuscript Central System.
- Work with Scholar One to develop and implement an automated feedback system on Manuscript Central for the authors of EDL manuscripts.
- Implement a new member benefit to offer authors of accepted EDL or T-ED papers (as long as all authors are EDS members) a free copy editing service if deemed necessary by the Editor or EIC.
