Tahui Wang (S’85-M’86-SM’94) received the BS degree in electrical engineering from National Taiwan University, Taiwan in 1980 and the PhD degree in electrical engineering from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, in 1985.

From 1985 to 1987, he was with Hewlett-Packard Laboratories, California, where he worked on Monte Carlo simulation in GaAs HEMT devices. Since 1987, he has been with the Department of Electronics Engineering, National Chiao-Tung University, Hsin-Chu, Taiwan. Currently, he is a Professor. He has been a consultant at Macronix International Co., Taiwan since 2000, working on non-volatile memory technology. His current research interests include flash memory devices, CMOS reliability and modeling, high-voltage/high-power devices and charge transport theory in nano-structures. Dr. Wang has published more than 180 journal and conference papers and held 16 patents in the above areas.

Dr. Wang served on the technical program committees of IEDM, IRPS, VLSI-TSA and as tutorial chair of 2004 IPFA and an EDS Newsletter editor for region 10 (Taiwan, Hong Kong and China). He was an invited speaker of 2003 IEDM on the topic “Reliability Models of Data Retention and Read-Disturb in 2-Bit Nitride Storage Flash Memory Cells”. He was granted the Best Teaching Award by the Ministry of Education, Taiwan in 1991. He was the recipient of the best paper award of 2004 IPFA and the co-author of the best student paper award of 2005 VLSI Symp. on Tech.
