Q: Do I have to purchase the Live Meeting Software?
A: No. When you're ready to host a web conference using Live Meeting Simply complete and submit the registration form.


Q: What should I do if I am having trouble initializing or downloading the LiveMeeting console?
A: Clear the browser's cache (In Internet Explorer 5.x: Tools, Internet Options, Delete Files, OK) then refresh the browser.

  Q: Does Conference Center 2000 support Internet audio?
A: Yes, Presenter deliver presentation while attendees listen in.

Q: Is Macintosh supported?
A: Yes: See system requirements here


Q: How much advance notice is required?
A: One week.

Q: Are polling results anonymous?
A: Yes

Q: What is the difference between an Interactive and Guided Web Tour?

A: Interactive Web Tours allow the audience to view live web pages with active hyperlinks giving them the flexibility to navigate to various portions of a particular web site. Whereas the Guided Web Tour uses the Application Sharing feature and audience members would see the live web pages but would not be able to follow hyperlinks and navigate on their own.

  Q: I have uploaded my slides, however when trying to preview certain slides do not display in the Presenter's console.

A: There may have been a problem while uploading the slides. Try and re-import. If your system doesn not meet the requirements, certain features may not work as expected.

  Q: What is the PowerPoint plug in?

A: If you have certain slide presentations that you will be uploading frequently to the console, possibly while a conference is in progress, you can use this plug-in. This will take the content and convert ahead of time, thus reducing the upload time. In most cases, this step is not necessary. This feature also allow you the option to insert interactive slides like polling and web slides before importing into conference center

  Q: How do I set up a Slide Show to run prior to the start of the conference?

A:

  1. Login as a Presenter
  2. Click Import Icon.
  3. Navigate to the file you would like to play prior to the conference.
  4. Click Open.
  5. Delete any slides you do not want included in the pre-conference show by highlighting the thumbnail and right-clicking on DELETE.
  6. Click View (top menu).
  7. Select "Automatic Cycling"
  8. Enter the number of "Seconds between page changes."
  9. Click Start.

  Q: What if I have to cancel a conference or change the number of participants?

A: Please notify web-conf@ieee.org so that the connections can be provisioned to other users.

  Q: Do notes entered on slides carry over into the presentation recording?

A: Yes. Notes and annotations are preserved.

  Q: How can I insert a picture of the presenter into the console?

A: Click on Tools (top menu)

  1. Select "User Preferences"
  2. Enter optional personal information into preceding text fields
  3. Navigate to your local drive(s) to locate your 60x60 gif
  4. Click OK
