The "IEEE: One Voice" Video is aimed at making those in the technology community feel proud to be part of IEEE, and encourage those who are not affiliated with IEEE to feel good about the contributions of technology to society.
In 2008, IEEE launched a Public Visibility Initiative to increase IEEE's visibility and increase public understanding of how engineering, computing and technology benefit humanity. The "IEEE: One Voice" video is the result of work by the Public Visibility Initiative Ad-hoc Committee, under the leadership of 2008 Committee Chair Leah Jamieson.

The Truth About the JFK Assassination. Signal Processing Tells The Story.
view programPresident John F Kennedy was assassinated in Dallas in November of 1963. Although an investigation soon concluded that only one gunman, Lee Harvey Oswald, shot at President Kennedy, there is a community of skeptics that exist to this day who think that there was another gunman. Thirteen years later, the US Congress Select Committee on Assassinations reopened an investigation of the President's assassination. The Committee learned about some recordings of the Dallas Police radio traffic, and they speculated that somewhere on these recordings there might be the sounds of gunfire, perhaps even allowing investigators to determine how many shots had been fired. In 1982, the investigation was reopened yet again. Mr. Charles Rader, an IEEE member, served on the Committee on Ballistic Acoustics. Our program is based on the science of "Signal Processing" and discusses the findings of this committee.
