Airborne Products Manufacturing Engineering
Manager He is the Manufacturing Engineering Manager for Airborne Products at Raytheon Space and Airborne Systems in Forest, Mississippi. He earned the title of “Certified Project Manager” after completing the Raytheon Project Management Certification program in 2007. He is responsible for managing people, equipment, resources, schedules and budgets in the production, integration and test of Airborne Radar products and other supported engineering activities. He has over twenty-eight years of technical parts, reliability, manufacturing, systems, components engineering and project/program management experiences. He earned a BS in Physics from Southern University A&M College in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. He was awarded the Los Angeles County “Community Leadership Award” in 1998 for voluntarily managing an after school computer client for inner city children. He is a private recreational pilot and owns a Cessna 150L. He loves golfing, hiking, fishing, repairing computers and playing with all kinds of high-tech gadgets. CONFERENCE: Los Angeles Council – WESCON, Associate Director, 1994. AWARD: IEEE-USA Regional Professional Leadership Award, 2004. IEEE Accomplishments – I served on the IEEE-USA Board of Directors as 2007-2008 Vice President of Professional Activities. I am a Senior Member of IEEE and an active member of Region 3 since moving to Mississippi in late 2007. I have held many IEEE positions within Region 6 (R6) for over 18 years; held numerous officer positions in the former South Bay Section Computer Society Chapter, Reliability Society and Components, Packaging, and Manufacturing Technology Society; Los Angeles Council Chair in the late 1990s; and finally Region 6 PACE Coordinator from 2002 through 2006. As a former R6 PACE Coordinator, I was responsible for managing and promoting PACE projects at the grassroots level for IEEE. In 2005 alone, I managed and provided funds for Section PACE Chairs to complete over twenty-five PACE projects; and in 2006 I helped R6 fund over eighteen projects. Examples of the type of projects are: Future City projects, several technical resume workshops, professional career fair and seminars, PE review courses, technical paper contests, K through 12 programs, several achievement awards, and local technical programs. Statement – The primary responsibility of the IEEE-USA Member-at-Large is to advise the IEEE President and the IEEE Board of Directors on matters concerning the United States membership. I pledge to do my best to advocate, guide, inform and communicate with the IEEE-USA membership on activities and programs that are important to you. Your voice will be my voice to the IEEE Board of Directors, your needs for changes and improvements of benefits will be heard at the IEEE Board of Directors level through me. If elected, I plan to attend each regional meeting to listen first-hand to your concerns and report your likes and dislikes of IEEE-USA sponsored and funded programs and share the information with you. As many of you know, I am a big supporter of maintaining professional activities programs and IEEE-USA membership growth at the regional and sectional levels of IEEE. |

Management Consultant Started his first company while in college in Italy. In industrial instrumentation and control industries since 1961 as technical contributor, senior manager and board member. Founded and managed technology companies with operations in North and South America, Europe and Asia. Currently a management consultant, after retiring as Vice President/General Manager of a group of technology companies with over US$40 million in sales and operations in US, Germany and Japan. Non-IEEE volunteer activities include Aid To Victims of Domestic Abuse president and board member, a Houston based nonprofit organization that provides pro bono legal, counseling, and other services to domestic violence victims. In partnership with a North Carolina elementary school, sponsored Koalaty Kids, an American Society for Quality program that engages students in continuous individual and school improvements using quality metrics. Holds 20+ US patents. Contributed to Instrument Engineers’ Handbook, and numerous industry publications. International Society of Automation (ISA) Life Member. IEEE Activities – (M’89-SM’97) COMMITTEES/BOARD: IEEE-USA Intellectual Property Committee: Chair, 1992-95; Vice Chair, 1990-92; Member, 1996-2009. IEEE-USA Entrepreneurs’ Activities Committee, Co-Chair, 2008-09. IEEE-USA Career Activities, 1993-95. REPRESENTATIVES: IEEE-USA Representative to National Inventors Hall of Fame, 2006-09. IEEE-USA Representative to AAES. AWARD: IEEE-USA Citation of Honor, 1997. IEEE Accomplishments – IEEE Senior Member. Since joining IEEE in 1989, I worked as a volunteer to support entrepreneurship, Intellectual Property protection for US inventors, engineering careers, and innovation.
Statement – I value my work of nearly 20 years with IEEE-USA. IEEE-USA performs a vital role for our members and the country in dealing with disruptive changes in technology, business and social structures in the US and across the globe. I believe in the activities of the IEEE-USA starting at K-12 through higher education, and with industry and government which are indispensable in maintaining a proactive engineering community that can drive change and protect our standard of living, competitiveness, and the environment. Particularly important in today’s economy is the work we are doing to support entrepreneurs, members’ careers, and intellectual property protection. I believe that my technical and managerial background and my IEEE-USA work in entrepreneurs’ activities, career services, intellectual property, and the Innovation Institute qualify me for the role of Member-at-Large complementing the efforts of the President and the Board in supporting our members. |
