Engineering Program Evaluators The IEEE Educational Activities Board (EAB) seeks qualified professionals from industry, government and academic sectors to serve as Program Evaluators (PEV's) to assist in accrediting Engineering Programs at U.S. colleges for the Engineering Accreditation Commission (EAC) of the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology, Inc (ABET). Participation in the accreditation process for IEEE/ABET engineering programs is a major responsibility of the IEEE. This activity depends on the efforts of motivated and qualified program evaluators and the support provided by their employers. Service as a program evaluator offers the opportunity for members of the profession to contribute to the achievement of high quality educational standards of engineering programs, gain insight into the characteristics and trends of education engineering, and interact with peers from higher education and industry. IEEE is a Participating Body of ABET. ABET's purpose is the promotion and advancement of engineering and engineering technology education with a view to furthering the public welfare through the development of better-educated engineers, engineering technologists and engineering technicians. ABET also assists academic institutions in planning their educational programs.
Qualified Evaluator Candidates Required
Evaluator candidates are required for the following ABET-accredited engineering programs. IEEE is the lead society for these programs.
