Meeting the Growing Demand for Engineers and Their Educators 2010-2020 - Conference Program



The three-day conference will begin with an opening reception followed by a series of keynote addresses and breakout sessions focused on the growing demand for engineers and their educators. Attendees will also hear paper presentations. The conference will include:                

  • Keynote Adddresses on:
    • The status of the engineering workforce: an industry perspective
    • The status of the supply and demand of pre-university science, technology, engineering and mathematics educators: a pre-university education perspective
    • The role of academia and professional societies in addressing the issues associated with developing future engineers and pre-university educators in science, technology, engineering and mathematics
  • Breakout Sessions to discuss:
    • How industry, academia, professional societies and government collaborate to address engineering workforce issues
    • How industry, academia, professional societies and government collaborate to address the supply and demand of pre-university science, technology, engineering and mathematics educators
    • Collaborative strategies to meet the challenges and develop an action plan.
